What’s new
New features
- Favorites — mark any item as a favorite by pressing
F on it in any view. Favorites are a mixed collection
that can include issues, PRs, branches, commits, tags, releases, and
workflow runs — across any number of repos.
- A ★ Favorites entry appears at the top of the left repo list. Select it to see all your favorited items in one place.
- The favorites count is shown in the repo list:
★ Favorites (12). - In the favorites view, press F on an item to unfavorite it, or Enter to open it in the browser.
- Favorited items in any view are marked with a ★ prefix in the list.
- Favorites persist across sessions (stored in
%APPDATA%\ghmanage\favorites.json). - Dedup is by GitHub URL — each item has a unique URL.
- Quick Filter — press Ctrl+F to
filter the current list by text. The filter matches case-insensitively
against all visible columns in the current view.
- Works in every view: Issues & PRs, Branches, Commits, Tags, Releases, Workflow Runs, and Favorites.
- The status bar shows the filter state:
Filter: 'login' (3/142). - Press Escape in the list to clear the filter instantly.
- Filter auto-clears when switching views or repos.
- Leave the filter dialog empty to clear.
Bug fixes
No more console window flashing — on Windows, every background
ghCLI call used to briefly pop up a console window. This is now suppressed withCREATE_NO_WINDOW, so the app runs quietly without terminal windows flashing on screen during loads.Go To works for any issue/PR number — previously, Go To (Ctrl+G) only worked if the item was already in the loaded list. If you searched for a closed issue, a PR beyond the fetch limit, or anything not matching the current filter, it just said “not found.” Now it fetches the item on-demand from GitHub and inserts it into the list so you can view it regardless of state or page position.
Go To shows a dialog when item doesn’t exist — if you enter a number that doesn’t exist as an issue or PR in the repo, you now get a clear “Not Found” dialog instead of a silent status bar message that’s easy to miss. Errors during the fetch also show a dialog.
Improvements
- View menu cleanup — the View menu had two submenus
both named “Show,” which was confusing. They are now clearly labeled:
- View Mode — switch between Issues & PRs, Branches, Commits, Tags, Releases, Workflow Runs, ★ Favorites
- Filter — filter Issues Only / PRs Only / Issues & PRs within the Issues & PRs view
